Giardino Invernale… Winter Garden…

It's nice to get out and do a little winter gardening after the Holidays.  I've pruned most of the Roses and will continue pruning the rest in the next week or so.  My cabbages,  broccoli ,  and cauliflower plants are growing well… enjoying this cold weather that we've been having.  I am planting some sweet pea seeds and some Queen Anne's lace.   As always,  this time of year,  I am planting some ornamental cabbages.  We are having a very wet week,  so much rain,  and i'm loving every minute of it.  Thinking of how the garden will benefit from the rain makes me very happy, and happy to be inside,  cooking,  and doing a little crafting with natural elements…

Dolce Estate… Sweet Summer…

It seems like June just started,  yet, it's well on it's way… My birthday, along with wonderful celebrations by friends and family  came and went…as did Father's Day.  Time for savoring long days,  beach picnics, and gatherings with loved ones.

Accendifuoco… Firelighters…

After so much heat,  we finally have some cool weather ahead,  and maybe even a little rain… Time for  a warming fire,  and cozy dinners… I think that making fire starters using my dried roses,  and clippings from the garden will become a pre Christmas  tradition for me… such a pretty way to start a fire…

Accendifuoco…Firelighters…

Been enjoying making some seasonal crafts.  The latest one being these little firelighters.  Made from Natural ingredients that I had on hand , in the kitchen,   in the shed ,  and around the garden… Dried Roses,  Pinecones,  Dried Bay Laurel,  Rosemary, Sea Lavender,  Dried Apple Rings,  and Candied Orange Slices.  I melted Natural Beeswax, poured it into little Paper Muffin Cups, and  added some Essential Oils, and Spices.   Orange Clove,  Lavender Vanilla,  Apple Cinnamon, Orange Vanilla, and Eucalyptus.  A little piece of Twine dipped in wax will make lighting a fire easy,  the Oils and Spices will make it smell heavenly…
