When we find ourselves alone for dinner, we'll often take a picnic to the beach at sunset. This time I made my cauliflower, potato soup garnished with freshly snipped chives, baked a rustic loaf of bread and made sandwiches with sun dried tomato grilled chicken, mozzarella , and arugula . A bottle of wine, some chocolate, a candle , and we're set. It was a beautiful night with a gorgeous full moon, and not too cool. In front of the spectacular Hotel Del Coronado, a perfect way to spend a late summer evening.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely setting for a picnic, Mary. You know, picnics are one of my favorite things to do. I must have one real soon, maybe in the Fall.

This is all so lovely. I went to college, met my husband, and lived in San Diego for seven happy years long ago. Your photos bring back many happy memories of picnics on the beach.
