In Attesa Di Primavera... Waiting For Springtime...

Longing for winter weather which will never happen... but,  it's not nice to complain.  Our weather is amazing, many  people can only dream of it,  but... I guess we can't always have what we want... I try to create  a winter theme,  but,  it's not easy,,, In the meantime,  I enjoy spending time in my Potted English Garden,  and of course,  my kitchen.

A Little Garden Time... Un Po Di Giardinaggio...

Enjoying some time in my new sort-of garden.  Being limited to a potted garden,  but I can still have fun. It is a little different ,  it will be interesting to see how it evolves,  especially this Spring.  Fingers crossed...

Giardinaggio… Gardening…

I haven't been doing too much gardening since Fall,  but lately, our weather has been so warm,  it feels like spring is in the air.  Getting ready to prune the roses. Although the garden looks a bit sleepy,  I see signs of life… Sweet peas are popping up and little green shoots here and there, the Arugula is still very happy and growing well,  but,   it is winter after all ,  so it will be a little while before things start really looking good and showing lots of growth.  There are lots of birds around,  enjoying the repurposed Gingerbread House left over from Christmas.

Fine D 'Estate... End Of Summer...

I keep saying that it just hasn't felt like summer to me.  We haven't had extreme heat,  which will probably come later as usual,  when everyone else is enjoying turning leaves, and Fall weather.   But lately, since I love Fall so much,  and am keenly tuned in to the changes that the seasons bring ,  I am feeling that Fall is coming soon.  I'm not quite ready,  but happily looking forward.  Gardening has been great,  except for the stress of thinking that I may not get too many Pumpkins this year.  Nursery people have told me that the lack of heat may be the problem.  I am taking very good care of the plants and am determined !  Feeling the need to change some things,  I decided to paint the Iron Chandelier outside... Green... for a change... it will be nice with the colors of Fall  and the Garden.

Un Po Di Giardinaggio... A Little Gardening...

After our hot, hot summer,  i'm happy to be out doing a little bit of gardening . My friend Marilyn from Seattle visited a couple weeks ago and was surprised that we are able to grow so many things here in San Diego during this time of the year.  I guess we're spoiled here.  I am very happy to be growing herbs and just planted a new vegetable garden after having removed all the pumpkin plants. Looking forwards to those tiny vegetable plants growing in.  In the meanwhile...

Some  Red and White  for Christmas color...

and... Purple and White,  because those are my favorite colors against all the various shades of green in the garden.  I love the way White "pops" in the dark...

Patiently waiting for the Ornamental Cabbages to grow...
