When I thought of Tami's Birthday Lunch, I decided on " Bohemian Springtime" as the theme…Tami loves color , and I wanted to do something a little different than the typical pinks, lavender, and other pastels that are the essence of springtime. I painted the cake with my version of dandelions or allium , and made stylized hollyhocks and sunflowers …Inside, the cake was a Limoncello Cake with sweetened Mascarpone and Lemon Curd.

I have Limoncello in the freezer and two cartons of Mascarpone left over from the icing I made for last week's Elderflower wedding shower cupcakes.

Lemon cake, PURPLE, dandelions, Bohemian......all the things I love. I think this is my favorite cake of all. (that Barbie one comes in a close second :~) This is fabulous, Mary. And I love that cake holder, it's so unique. Can I have a piece to go with my coffee now?
