Le Mie Rose Inglesi... My English Roses...
The Roses are so happy right now and so am I... When I ordered my David Austin Roses several years ago, I didn't realize how small and " young" they would be. Some bloomed the first year, but just very few blooms. This year, all of them are blooming, a few for the first time... The colors are amazing, some so soft , others incredibly vibrant... and the layers and layers of petals.. stunning... Some of them resemble Peonies, which I have no luck growing so far but am still hoping that the Peony bulbs that Virginia gave me will grow... the bulbs that Marilyn dug out of her Seattle Garden and brought to me did not grow. All of the Roses have really exceptional fragrance and they are all different... love that!
Oooh Mary... I am in rose Heaven!... yours are all just stunning!... I just bought a new David Austin "Princess Anne" and can't wait to plant it today!... also, your new header is so pretty,,, xoxo Julie Marie

Mary,
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love roses, and this post made my heart glad today! I was also going to do a rose post very soon because my neighbor grows roses in every color you can think of! Your garden must be delightful every time you walk by. I can't help but love those pink ones in the last picture.
Enjoy your garden this weekend.
Love,
~Sheri
Anche io amo molto le rose inglesi e ne ho alcune, queste sono meravigliose.

Oh my gosh, Mary - your roses are incredible! They are absolutely stunning. Gosh I wish I grew better roses, mine hardly ever bloom and I don't know what I am doing wrong.
ReplyDeleteYou could win awards for these gorgeous pictures - I suggest watermarking them so they aren't "stolen" from you, the original source!
ciao Mary

Your David Austin's are beautiful. I recognized a couple but don't grow any myself. They have the most wonderful fragrance, don't they?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to mention too what Michele said - watermark your photos, I've had many of mine pirated by another blogger.
What gorgeous blooms... I love the David Austin catalog but they simply aren't hardy enough here in my past experience... I keep thinking about trying more, but our roses don't do well unless extremely hardy.... I suspect there is more to the equation than just the cold. What amazing plants and photos! Larry
ReplyDeleteAmazing outfit! Just fabulous:)
