Tende Italiane... Italian Linens...

I have lots of little curtains that my mom has given me , or that I have brought back from Italy.  I really love to have them casually covering a window,  allowing the sunshine in,  and the view to the outside to be visible , but still allowing a little privacy and shade.  All over Italy you can see similar little curtains, in windows,  gently blowing in the breeze,  allowing glimpses into homes where the sounds of family and cooking come wafting through.

In our bedroom,  I have used two long curtains as a canopy over our bed.  It's decorative and simple...

I like the way this one looks,  just covering the pillows...

These pieces aren't expensive,  but they are precious to me...

  1. Hello,
I visited your blog today - I saw you on my sweet friend, "Vintage Begonia." You have a lovely blog. While I was scrolling down, I noticed the pink roses. Oh my, they are pretty. I love the tea cups on here as well. Me and my daughters also have a blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you. Your blog is filled with beauty and simplicity. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.

  4. I think your simple linens are just beautiful and I really love how you used them on the bed. Now, if I had a beach house I would love to do that same thing. It reminds me of sails..... sigh

  5. Mary, I love, love, love these beauties! The Buon Riposo is exquisite..I will guess it was made by either your mom or grandmother? I too treasure mine, passed down from my grandmothers in Italy. Their labour of love has not been lost to us that value their beauty...thank you for sharing in this lovely post. N.xo
